Oracle SQL Release Roadmap
Unisoft Teaches Every New Feature

We are Nagpur's comprehensive one-stop center for SQL. Our course curriculum is meticulously updated with every major database release update, ensuring our students learn state-of-the-art, industry-relevant SQL.

Base Release

Oracle Database 23ai: Core SQL Syntax Simplifications

  • Optional FROM Clause: Run SELECT queries without referencing dummy tables like FROM DUAL.
  • GROUP BY Aliases: Reference SELECT column aliases directly inside GROUP BY and HAVING clauses.
  • IF [NOT] EXISTS: Conditional CREATE and DROP execution prevents database scripting errors.
  • Multivalue INSERTs: Insert multiple records in one DML statement using VALUE list constructors.
  • Table Value Constructor: Embed VALUES clauses in FROM/MERGE statements to make inline datasets.
Base Release

Oracle 23ai: DML & Types

  • Direct Joins: Perform UPDATE and DELETE statements using direct JOIN syntax without subqueries.
  • Extended RETURNING: Retrieve old and new values affected by UPDATE and MERGE commands.
  • Native BOOLEAN Type: Native support for TRUE, FALSE, and NULL directly in columns and queries.
  • Up to 4096 Columns: Enhanced wide-table support by increasing column limits from 1,024 to 4,096.
Updates 23.9 & 23.26.0

Release Updates

  • Group By All: Automatically group by all non-aggregate columns in the query select list.
  • Non-Positional INSERT: Map and insert values explicitly matching target columns, bypassing column order.
  • Qualify Clause: Filter the results of analytic (window) functions directly without nested subqueries.
Update 23.26.1

Release Update 23.26.1

  • Calendar & Fiscal Functions: Calculate standard calendar cycles and business/fiscal quarters directly in queries.
  • DateDiff & TimestampDiff: Calculate dates and high-precision timestamp differences with simplified syntax.
  • Aggregate Filters: Filter groups directly inside aggregate functions using standard FILTER (WHERE ...) clause.
Update 23.26.2

Release Update 23.26.2

  • WAIT and NOWAIT for DML: A lock timeout on the DML statement itself — WAIT 10 SECONDS, NOWAIT, or down to microseconds. Leave it off and the statement waits indefinitely, as it always did.
  • Nested WITH Clause: Structure complicated calculations with nested, correlated CTE (Common Table Expression) blocks.
  • JOIN TO ONE Syntax: A join that cannot multiply your rows — if a joined table matches twice, Oracle raises ORA-18640 at run time instead of silently duplicating them. A correctness guarantee, not a speed hint.
Update 23.26.3

Release Update 23.26.3 — July 2026

  • Native DATEADD: DATEADD(unit, value, datetime) adds or subtracts a single time unit — YEAR through NANOSECOND, WEEK and QUARTER included — with no NUMTODSINTERVAL or interval arithmetic. The same function other databases already provide.
  • Not a drop-in for ADD_MONTHS: DATEADD(MONTH, 1, '28-Feb-2023') returns 28‑Mar. ADD_MONTHS returns 31‑Mar — it snaps to month end, DATEADD does not. Knowing which your report needs is exam-grade detail.
  • Unicode 17.0: The NLS data files behind the AL32UTF8 and AL16UTF16 character sets now match the Unicode 17.0 character database. Linguistic collation stays at UCA 12.1, so sorting behaviour is unchanged.
Saurabh Joshi, CTO and Oracle SQL trainer at Unisoft Technologies Nagpur
“A release update is not a rumour — Oracle publishes exactly what changed, and it belongs in the syllabus that month. DATEADD landed in RU 23.26.3 and it is in the course now. We teach on 23.26.3 in the lab, so when you write QUALIFY or GROUP BY ALL, it runs in front of you. Not on a slide.”

Course & Learning

Unisoft Technologies in Dharampeth, Nagpur offers one of the most comprehensive SQL courses in the region — covering Oracle SQL fundamentals, advanced queries, performance tuning, and 1Z0-171 certification preparation. With 25+ years of experience and 10,000+ SQL graduates, it is widely regarded as Nagpur's top-rated SQL training institute.

SQL course fees in Nagpur typically range from ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 depending on course depth, mode (online/classroom), and institute reputation. At Unisoft, the fee is competitively priced and includes live classroom training, Oracle-certified faculty, study material, and placement support — making it excellent value for professionals and freshers alike.

Yes — you can start writing real SQL queries within your first few days of training. Unisoft offers two training modes: Fast Track — minimum 3–3.5 hours of daily engagement allowing course completion in approximately 3 months; and Regular — 2 hours per day, 5–6 days a week, completing in approximately 6 months. Both modes include practical labs, projects, and certification prep.

Absolutely. SQL is considered one of the easiest programming languages for beginners because it uses simple English-like syntax. No prior coding experience is needed. Unisoft's course starts from absolute basics and progressively builds your skills — most students start writing real queries within the first week of training.

SQL (Structured Query Language) is the standard language used to communicate with relational databases. It is used to create, retrieve, update, and delete data — forming the backbone of almost every data-driven application, website, and enterprise system in use today.

No — not at all. SQL does not require any prior programming experience. Its English-like syntax (SELECT, FROM, WHERE) is highly intuitive. At Unisoft, students from commerce, science, arts, and non-IT backgrounds consistently succeed in the course from day one.

Unisoft Technologies teaches the complete Oracle Database 23ai and 26ai updates. This is Nagpur's only SQL Certification Course in Nagpur that prepares you for the global Oracle SQL Certification 1Z0-171 in Nagpur by covering core enhancements like Native BOOLEAN, Optional FROM, the QUALIFY clause, and Aggregate Filters.

These features dramatically simplify complex queries. The QUALIFY clause lets you filter analytic function results without writing nested subqueries, and Aggregate Filters let you selectively aggregate data directly within standard aggregate functions, improving developer productivity and query performance.

All our instructors teach SQL on command-line SQL*Plus rather than GUI IDEs. Modern IDEs prompt with intellisense autocomplete and help productivity, but they hide syntax errors and prevent beginners from learning basic query structures. Forcing students to manually type each SQL statement word-by-word on SQL*Plus builds strong syntax muscle memory, preparing them thoroughly for developer whiteboard coding interviews.

We provide chapter-wise assignments, structured class tests after every 4 chapters, and a complete database design project. After completing the DDL chapter, students design database architectures and create complete production-ready schemas from scratch using Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERD) and normalization techniques.

We teach SQL Indexing including B-Tree and Bitmap indexes (and precisely which one to use when), the Cost-Based Optimizer (CBO) and its connection to query optimization, and how to use AUTOTRACE or EXPLAIN PLAN to check execution costs, rewrite queries, and test them again. You will also learn performance hints to force specific index scans (such as unique vs. non-unique index paths), and when to implement Partitioned Tables, Index-Organized Tables (IOT), or Cluster Tables. We cover the optimization of Common Table Expressions (CTEs) using hints like /*+ materialize */ or /*+ inline */, and guide you on when to use inline views, CTEs, or window functions. Ultimately, we teach you how to write multiple solutions to the same problem and choose the best one through cost management and live explain plan testing.

Yes. We teach database design theory and strict normalization (1NF, 2NF, 3NF, BCNF, and 4NF) from scratch. We also cover when it is appropriate to denormalize data — such as for data analytics, reporting dashboards, charts, and ad-hoc query requests. Additionally, we teach how to leverage temporary tables for performance-intensive reporting and analytical workloads.

Yes. Oracle 23ai and 26ai introduce native vector search and AI workflows directly inside standard SQL. At Unisoft, we are ready to teach these features and show how Oracle handles AI workloads. Furthermore, if a student is willing to purchase/provide their own Large Language Model (LLM) API keys, we can conduct live, practical lab sessions integrating SQL databases with modern LLM pipelines and AI vector datasets.

Yes, we cover every possible SQL interview coding challenge. This includes finding and deleting duplicate records, handling NULL values (which is one of the most confusing concepts in SQL — we cover this extensively, topic by topic, detailing exactly where NULL is ignored versus where it is respected), and managing database transactions with a deep dive into ACID properties and live examples. We also tackle tough challenges around CTEs and Window Functions. To ensure whiteboard and live test readiness, we make it compulsory for our students to solve SQL questions from popular coding platforms like LeetCode, HackerRank, and DataLemur, supported by expert doubt-solving sessions.

Career & Jobs

Yes — SQL is one of the most in-demand skills in the IT industry. Most data analyst, backend developer, and database administrator roles require SQL as a mandatory skill. Combined with tools like Excel, Power BI, or Python, SQL significantly boosts your employability. Unisoft provides dedicated placement assistance to help students land their first role after completing the course.

SQL skills are used in a wide range of roles: Database Administrator (DBA), Data Analyst, Backend Developer, Business Intelligence Developer, ETL Developer, and Data Engineer. Even non-technical roles in finance, marketing, and operations increasingly require SQL for reporting and decision-making.

Yes — SQL remains one of the top 5 most demanded technical skills in India in 2026 according to LinkedIn and Naukri hiring data. With the explosion of data analytics, cloud databases, and AI/ML adoption across industries, Oracle SQL and broader relational database skills are more critical than ever for Indian IT professionals.

SQL alone can qualify you for junior database or data roles. However, pairing it with complementary skills such as Excel, Power BI, Python, or a cloud platform (AWS/Azure) dramatically improves your chances of landing better-paying jobs. Unisoft's SQL course is structured to teach industry-relevant combinations, not just isolated SQL syntax.

Salary & Earnings

The average salary of a SQL Developer in India ranges from ₹3.5 LPA to ₹12 LPA depending on experience, skills, and company. Entry-level Database Analysts typically start at ₹3–4 LPA, while experienced SQL/Oracle DBAs or Data Engineers can earn ₹10–20+ LPA at product companies and MNCs.

A fresher with SQL skills typically earns between ₹2.5 LPA and ₹4.5 LPA in their first role, depending on the industry and city.
